Emma is the mum of two children with multiple allergies and the author of Living With Allergies: Practical tips for all the family, endorsed by Allergy UK and Professor Adam Fox. When her son had an anaphylactic reaction as a toddler, she used her experiences as a national features journalist to research allergies and write about her experiences. Her book reached number one in Allergies on Amazon and she has appeared on This Morning, BBC News, in The Times and New Scientist. Emma is currently writing a non- fiction children's book called You, Me & Food Allergies.
AssureTech was founded by Joey DiGangi III when he was at college. Joey lives with a food allergy and he wanted to help people manage their allergic conditions more effectively. It started with a simple idea - to build a case for an adrenaline auto-injector that syncs with a smartphone to remind users to carry their adrenaline auto-injectors with them at all times.
AssureTech has now developed an app called EpiCentre. The app features emergency calling, hospital location, emergency contact notification and a host of community related features, such as blogs and podcasts. In addition, the EpiCentre app translates food allergy information into more than 30 different languages.
